Little Fran the Koala fell from a tree while away from her mom. She was rescued by the Australia Zoo and brought to our friends at VSS Jindalee for an incredible fracture repair by Dr Philip Moses (actually two fracture repairs, both in the femur). These images are reconstructed from our CT scan to show the fracture both pre and post-operatively. Dr Moses placed pins in the distal (lower) growth plate fracture and a plate on the lateral surface of the proximal (upper) femur fracture. This case was done pro bono with implants from VOI to help support one of their special native species. We hope she makes a speedy recovery.
