Power Equipment Repairs – A service worth cheering for!

At Veterinary Orthopedic Implants, we offer power equipment sales and repair services on all Stryker, Aesculap, DeSoutter and our various pneumatic systems.

Your purchase will include warranty information at the time of sale. Your account representative will go over these terms with you as well as the care guide you will receive with your power equipment.

Whether you purchased from us or not, your power equipment will need servicing or a repair.

“Help, my equipment isn’t working!”

Please call or email our repair department ([email protected]). We are here to assist and troubleshoot with you to determine what exactly may be causing a problem with your equipment. We can usually identify if a replacement is needed or a repair is necessary.

“This should be under warranty.”

Warranty repairs will only be accepted if the equipment being sent in has been purchased through us and has received the care outlined in the care and maintenance guides provided at the time of sale. Warranty repairs are void if these guidelines are not met. Please make sure that at the time of purchase, all questions regarding care and maintenance are addressed. A voided warranty is determined during the evaluation processes of the repair prior to an estimate.

“I do not have a backup system and will need a loaner.”

During the time of repair, loaner equipment may be provided depending on availability. We typically have on hand the equipment you may be sending in for repair. A rental agreement contract is drawn up and signed prior to a loaner being issued to you if available. We always encourage you to have a back-up system available; however we understand in certain cases a loaner may be the only option. Please plan surgeries accordingly for an expected down time if a loaner is not available.

“How do I get my equipment to you for evaluation”

Obtain an RMA and fill out our Repair and Sterilization forms: Forms located here.

An RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) is required prior to you mailing us your power equipment. We will request you have the date of purchase or a rough estimate, a serial number if available on the equipment and the reason the equipment is coming in for repair. You can locate an RMA request for a repair on our vetimplants.com/repairs page. An RMA will be issued and emailed to you through our email ([email protected]). Shipping and handling is the responsibility of the customer. For a warranty repair, shipping and handling may be refunded at the time the repair is mailed back if the warranty is honored after evaluating the condition of the equipment.

“Why should I fill out a sterilization form?”

Note: OSHA Standards (29CFR1910.1030) require instruments and equipment to be sterilized prior to shipping.

OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29CFR1910.1030) requires the use of appropriate sterilization on potentially contaminated equipment and instrumentation prior to transporting. This is necessary to ensure that equipment is in a condition that makes it safe to be handled by all personnel who may come into contact with it during transit and subsequent handling. All used surgical equipment is assumed to have potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.

“Waiting on an update, is there an estimate?”

Estimates for repairs typically take 7-10 business days to acquire. Time for transit and evaluation is needed. An estimate will be emailed to the email address provided in the RMA request field on our repairs page. All estimates are valid and open for up to 14 business days. Estimates do not include shipping and handling and may change to reflect if internal damage is noted once a repair is approved.

“I approved my estimate, how long does the repair process take?”

All repairs are handled here in the United States by certified trained repair technicians. While we do not repair in house, we direct your equipment to the qualified technician who will in turn provide the repair. A service warranty will then extended to you. Repairs typically take 3-4 weeks depending on time in transit, estimate approvals, and the order in which the repairs are approved.

Since we began offering a full range of repair services in early 2016, we have handled over 1,000 repairs from customers all over the world.
