Suture – Cracking the Code

DemeTECH provides built to order suture services to accommodate your every suture need. To be able to keep product codes uniform, they are structured by the following guide:

  • Example “PX283022B0P”
    • The “PX” is the type of suture
    • The first number following the suture type signifies the length. The “2” represents this suture is 75cm long.
    • The second number following the length signifies the color of the suture. The “8” represents this suture is violet.
    • The next two numbers signify the OT size. The “30” is a 3/0.
    • The next two numbers signify the needle size. The “22” is a 22mm needle.
    • The letter that follows the needle size signifies the needle curvature. The “B” represents a 1/2c. You will see “F” frequently in codes which represents 3/8c.
    • The last number and letter represent the needle type (reverse / round bodied “taper” / etc) The “0” represents this is a round bodied needle.
